History- Carnotite, one of the ores mined in the area, was transported through the canyon to whitewater for its radium content.
Plantlife- Big Sagebrush or the Artemisia tridentata has a hairy look to it and can grow 1-3m tall
Watershed- because of the divide in the canyon, water flows both East and West through the East and west creek
Wildlife- The Magpie, a black, white, and blue bird, has a diet of fruit, grains, insects and even small mammals
