History: The earliest documentation of white settlers in Unaweep Canyon is 1881.
Plant life: Mormon Tea aka Ephedra viridis is found in this habitat and it's edible.
Watershed: If there is a decline in macroinvertebrates in the river, it's a good warning sign that something in the way humans use and consume the river's water needs to change.
Wild life: Magpies aka Pica hudsonia are found in this area and have a dash of blue on their wings.
